River North Series Part I
Feder's journey through painting has taken her into the land of the abstract, into landscape, and back to portraiture. These pieces reflect the passage of time, and the outside influences that change and shape us. Water, train tracks, bridges, and even gravestones mark the passage of life from one side to the other. The apparent or underlying structure of this series encourage an interchange with the viewer and a narrative emerges.

River North Series Part II
Bringing excitement and change to The West, the railroads delivered settlers who would toll the eventual end of the Tall Grass Prairie and of the buffalo’s dominion of the plains. It brought to a close the epoch of life ordered by natural laws and saw instead man’s attempt to rule all things. The cultures of the people who lived in-tune with natural order were nearly obliterated, along with countless species and specimens of history. This westward expansion also was responsible for the amazing birth of industries and cities that quickly grew to sustain humans and to usher in the most incredible journeys of exploration and innovation.
